Ryo thinks she is a normal girl living a normal highschool life in modern day Tokyo. But is she? On a school trip, a mysterious man attacks her and claims that he is Benkei, the legendary warrior monk who collected 999 of his opponents' swords in battle during the Heinan era. And he also claims that she is Ushiwakamura, the 1000th opponent, that according to folklore, beat Benkei and became his master. But...Ushiwakamura was a man! And Benkei and Ushiwakamura existed in 13th century feudal Japan!

I love, I love, I love! It's great! I just love Ueda Rinko's art!

It has the same genre as Ouke No Monshou and Anatolia Story so everyone that likes those mangas will like this one too!
Also, the first volume may feel a little slow but I promise, it's worth to read!

All volumes/chapters which have been translated are available.

    Yargh.....this one made me cry....

Yup, it's got most everything one would want from a manga (shoujo that is); heartbreak, comedy, romance....

Talk about roaring rapids. The emotional roller coaster this manga puts off is a real wild ride. It was good from start to finish, though sad on so many levels.

I just love this kind of tales, and Ueda sensei is just fitting for the task. A good romance tale with a good heroine set in feudal Japan....worth a try!
